About Agape Gardens

Agape Gardens was formed in 2019 by Ian Alderman. The word Agape (pronounced Ah-gop-ay) is used in the New Testament original Greek language to describe the unconditional and selfless love of Jesus. Ian’s inspiration behind the use of the word Agape was to witness to the wonderful truths and blessings of Agape love. The word garden is a unique description of a beautiful landscape where people find rest and comfort in nature. By combining Agape and gardens, Ian defines the greatest purpose of his work; to testify to the love of God in the beauty of His earthly creations.

Our goal at Agape Gardens is to give our customers the gift of enjoying their outdoor living space.

Your outdoor space builds relationships with your guests and neighbors making them more comfortable especially when they can observe the beauty of their home.  Your space reduces stress just by being in nature and, your outdoor living area creates opportunities for precious times spent with loved ones such as picnics, family portraits, and outdoor activities.

Many of our customers have specific problems that need immediate attention for the health and maintenance of their landscape. Some have retaining  issues such as standing water in your yard. Other clients are challenged to get their plants or grass to thrive or express their lush tropical beauty. Often, we have had to clear overgrown cluttered landscapes in order to bring yard maintenance to a manageable level. These simple jobs are also a part of our landscape routine.

About Ian & Christian

About Ian

Ian Alderman is a 5th generation Sarasota native and 5th generation Florida agricultural worker. Raised on a plant nursery in Sarasota, he grew up learning to drive tractors, trucks, and trailers while working with his Dad and Grandad in the landscape and nursery business. After graduating from Saint Leo University, he experienced working for other employers, but he realized that he missed working for the family business. He saw better opportunities at home so he returned and focused on working with his Dad. He learned deep skills and committed his life to the trade of ornamental horticulture. Ian is compelled to carry the legacy and the pride of true craftsmanship taught by his father and grandfather.

Ian enjoys being involved in his church, developing relationships, and experiencing the unique restaurant industry of Sarasota with his wife.

About Christian

Christian Kinne originally came from Maine but moved to Florida in 2009 and has been here ever since. While in Maine, he lobstered in the summers and learned that he will always want to work outside with his hands. He was introduced to the value of working in the landscape industry through Ian, and in 2020, they began their partnership. Christian and Ian have been friends for many years and look forward to growing their business together. Christian enjoys creating beautiful landscapes, working out, and spending quality time with his friends and family. One of his favorite aspects of the business is designing a new landscape project from scratch. It gives him the opportunity to see their visions come to real life.
